Nowhere to rent
Wednesday 26th August

I phone about the place I viewed on Monday 17th August on Wilmslow Road. I decided £75 a week is not bad and I could do with a place nearer the city.

I dial the number
Them: "Hello."
Me: "Hi. Do you still have the place above the vet on Wilmslow Road?"
Him: "No they've both gone. Is that Jackson's friend?"
Me: "Yeah. Do ou have anything else?"
Him: "Not like that. Only the small room."
Me: "When will they become free. In 6 months?"
Him: "It could be. Or it could be years. I don't know how long they're going to stay there. Would you like to see the smaller room again?"
Me: "No. I'll get back to you. Thanks."

Maybe I'm better off not renting. Who needs hassle when I can housesit. Besides, rather than moving and fitting out a place I should be selling my book. Lately all my business is going downhill as I keep editing my book rather than selling it. Other work is non-existent now the recession is in full swing. Financially it's not looking good.

A big cost for me is my 25mpg Volvo 940. The government is making too much money off this petrol. I have to travel and I can't afford to change my car because I ould end up buying one that needs £100's of repairs. It's better to keep my car which I know is well maintained. It reaches the point where people become so financially poor they can't move. Driving, travelling etc all costs too much money.
