Trouble at the house party

Saturday 18th October

It's 12:15pm, just after midday on this Saturday afternoon, the phone rings.
Me: "Hi."
Alex K: "Hi."
Me: "What's up?"
Alex K: "Things got heavy last night. Oh man."
Me: "Did you get beaten up?"
Alex K: "No."
Me: "Well it can't be that bad then."
Alex K: "Yeah it was. After you went home. I went back to see Holly. She was with all her friends, ex-boyfriend, and his two brothers. They invited me to a house party at their place in Wythenshawe. They took a taxi and me and Holly followed in the car. When we got to the party it was ok. Me and Holly were dancing, getting close. She said to wait until we were on our own because people were around."
Me: "So what's the big deal?"
Alex K: "Wait a minute, then things got bad. I went upstairs to the bathroom, then came down a minute later. Apparently Holly thought I'd left and went outside to chase after me. So when I came downstairs she'd already looked for me outside, then came back into the house. By this time her ex-boyfriend was drunk and noticed she was chasing after me. He started shouting ‘What are you trying to steal my girl for!' and ‘I thought you were an ok guy'. I ended up with him and his two brothers in the kitchen and everyone was arguing. His younger brother was saying ‘You'd better leave now. I think his brother likes Holly too."
Me: "I'm surprised her ex-boyfriend didn't punch you."
Alex K: "Yeah, well. His brother was calming things down because he didn't want trouble there. Then I got thrown out of the house."
I'm laughing by now, I think the whole thing is quite funny.
Alex K: "It's not funny."
Me: "What, they like picked you up and threw you into the bins!"
Alex K: "No, I had to leave and went out of the back door. Then I drove home and I got stopped by the police because I didn't have my lights on.
Me: "You got stopped by the police as well! This is classic! Did you get a ticket?"
Alex K: "No. I said how I'd nearly just got in a fight so they took my details and were ok about it. Yeah, so I didn't get to bed until 6am."
Me: "This is like something off Ricki Lake."
Alex K: "It's not funny."
Me : "Yeah it is, but you were lucky to get out."
Alex K: "Maybe."
Me: "You need to find someone else, stop going to those acting classes and meet new people. I heard there are acting classes at Sale."
Alex K: "Yeah, where?"
Me: "At the Waterside."
Alex K: "You should go too."
Me: "Not really my thing, and I've got other things to do like work on my book."
Alex K: "I'm going to lay low for a while. I don't want to meet them again on a night out."
Me: "Don't worry about it. Nothing will happen. If it does I'll just diffuse the situation. Chris was always good at that."
Alex K: "How?"
Me: "When me and Chris used to go out, if anything was about to start he'd just have a discussion with them, and everything would be fine, it would be sorted."
Alex K: "That's good. Do you still meet up?"
Me: "Not really. He works the late shift and we only meet up occasionally now."
Alex K: "I might send them an email."
Me: "Don't bother with them anymore."
Alex K: "I'll get going, I've only just woken up. I'm going to get some food."
Me: "Ok, see you later."
And I put the phone down.

Reviews: Saturday 18th October

Holly's ex-boyfriends parent's place in Wythenshawe
Medium busy. Décor: 7/10. Music: dance music.
Notes: Alex K went to a house party here and it nearly kicked off big time.

Going out is meant to be about exploring the city, building a lifestyle and having a good time. Events have taken a turn for the worse when Alex K nearly ends up in a big fight. He chose to get to know a lady who turned out to be trouble. Luckily Alex K is ok and will be appearing in future episodes!
